GridCentric at DCT24

by davidcrow on December 11, 2009

Geoffrey Wiseman has posted his recordings of Tim Smith from GridCentric at the DemoCamp Toronto # 24. As Tim says “it’s fork() for the cloud”.

And the Q&A with the audience.

One thing I hope Geoffrey is doing, is clearing the publishing of the videos with each of the participants. I’m think it’s great to be able to extend the reach of the event for the participants, however, not every demo goes well. And many demoers are getting feedback and need to feel like they have the freedom to do this without a black mark on their permanent record. That said, I’m glad someone captured the presentations, and is starting to publish them.

  • I'm not, but it's a good idea. I'm certainly ok with removing any video that anyone's not happy with, but clearing it in advance is better, I'd agree. I haven't witnessed a demo for me to imagine that the presenter would want it removed, but YMMV, and certainly it's in the spirit of DemoCamp to encourage demos that might not be perfectly polished.
  • We love the fact that you took the video and posted it - thanks Geoffrey!

Also, that's Adin Scannell, our CTO :D
  • My comments were more that typically at events if the event organizer is recording and publishing, we're required to get a release from each speaker to use their image and the contents on the Interwebs for recorded video.

I don't think this should stop you from recording it, I might just be inclined to ask before publishing.

PS Thanks for recording the last DemoCamp
